Cambodia-Hungary Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation to Hold First Meeting Tomorrow

The Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between Cambodia and Hungary will hold its first ever meeting via virtual conference on Jan. 20-21 to boost bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Commerce, the Cambodian side will be led by H.E. Ms. Tekreth Kamrong, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce, and the Hungarian side will be headed by H.E. Peter István Joó, Deputy State Secretary for Export Development at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The aim of the meeting is to boost the implementation of the already-signed agreements and MoUs and to review the work progress between the two counterparts, the press release pointed out.
Topics to be discussed include sectors of trade and economy; Tied Aid Credit Cooperation; agriculture, food security and forestry; water resource management; education, youth and sports; culture; tourism; industry, science, technology and innovation; and civil aviation, added the same source.
Cambodia and Hungary reached an agreement on economic cooperation on June 13, 2019 during an official visit of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, to Budapest. Under the agreement, both sides agreed to establish the Cambodia-Hungary Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation to strengthen the ties of friendship and enhance the economic cooperation between the two nations.
