Japanese Ambassador Praises Cambodia’s COVID-19 Containment and Response Measures

Japanese ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Mikami Masahiro has expressed his appreciation of the country’s efforts in containing and responding to COVID-19 pandemic.
The ambassador shared the impression when received by Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior at the ministry office here in Phnom Penh yesterday afternoon, according to Lt. Gen. Phat Sophanith, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior.
H.E. Mikami Masahiro also thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia as well as the Ministry of Interior for helping facilitate the living of Japanese nationals in Cambodia, which shows the good cooperation between the two governments.
Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng expressed his gratitude to Japanese government and people for their anti-COVID-19 assistance to Cambodia even though Japan has also been hit by the deadly disease. This reflects the good gesture and will of Japanese friend.
Samdech Sar Kheng also laid stress on the Royal Government’s endeavours in fighting against COVID-19 on the one hand and in restoring the economy on the other by taking successive measures, including the Cash Transfer Programme for Poor and Vulnerable Households during COVID-19” launched on June 24.
