Japan to Boost Cambodia’s Financial and Technical Development

Japan is committed to helping foster Cambodia’s development, particularly in financial and technical sectors.
The commitment was highlighted by visiting H.E. Suzuki Hideo, Assistant Minister and Director General of International Cooperation General Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth here in Phnom Penh recently.
H.E. Suzuki Hideo reiterated Japan’s stand in promoting close bilateral cooperation between the two countries, adding that Japan will continue to support the collaboration with Cambodia, including that within the framework of Mekong-Japan, and ASEAN-Japan.
Through Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) has extended its assistance of over US$5 billion to Cambodia by far, and over US$3.5 billion of the amount is grant aid, he underlined.
From his end, H.E. Aun Pornmoniroth profoundly thanked the government and people of Japan for their valuable contribution to the development of Cambodia.
He continued that, Cambodia has sustained its peace now with secured social development and economic growth; the achievement cannot be separated from the help of government and people of Japan.
