Promoting Sustainable Livelihood of Forest Communities
AKP Phnom Penh, September 04, 2019 --
Forestry Administration has reached a memorandum of understanding with a non-governmental organisation called RECOFTC to further build the capacity of forest communities and promote their livelihood.
The agreement was signed here in Phnom Penh recently by H.E Keo Omaliss, Director General of the Forestry Administration and RECOFTC representative.
The two partners have been working together for about twelve years now, formulating 635 forest communities across Cambodia and built their capacity.
The memorandum of understanding will allow more capacity development of forest communities toward sustainable livelihood, depending on forest products.
RECOFTC or the Centre for People and Forests is an international not-for-profit organisation that focuses on capacity building for community forestry in the Asia Pacific region, including Cambodia.
