Minister Chea Vandeth Reaffirms Royal Government Support for Veterans, Retirees in Takeo
AKP Phnom Penh, October 9, 2026 -- Minister of Post and Telecommunications H.E. Chea Vandeth met with 1,714 veterans and retirees in Takeo province on Thursday to discuss welfare support and highlight national development progress.
H.E. Vandeth, who serves as Honorary Chairman of the Cambodian Veterans Association in Takeo province and Head of the Royal Government Working Group for Takeo Province, held the gathering at Daun Keo City Hall, bringing together attendees from Treang district and Daun Keo city.
During the event, H.E. Vandeth conveyed warm greetings from Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet. He emphasised the Royal Government’s ongoing commitment to improving the livelihoods of veterans, retirees, and their families through land allocations for housing and agriculture, ongoing financial allowances, and special support provided during the Pchum Ben festival.
He added that beneficiaries receive access to free healthcare through the National Social Security Fund (NSSF).
H.E. Vandeth also briefed participants on national infrastructure and economic achievements, including the construction of roads, bridges, hospitals, and schools. He highlighted the Ministry's initiatives to improve telecommunications services, establish 61 target primary schools, and set up 21 community technology centres at high schools to advance digital education.
Closing his address, the Minister encouraged veterans and retirees to mentor younger generations and maintain a strong focus on their personal health and well-being.
