Cambodia, Australia Discuss Strengthening Economic, Trade and Tourism Cooperation
AKP Phnom Penh, August 19, 2026 —
H.E. Nom Piseth, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Cambodia to Australia, met with H.E. Don Farrell, Australian Minister for Trade and Tourism, Special Minister of State and Senator for South Australia, in Canberra on Wednesday afternoon to discuss ways to strengthen and expand economic and trade relations between the two countries.
H.E. Nom Piseth was accompanied by Mrs. Touch Pichet Phalkun, First Secretary, and Ms. Heng Huy Khey, Commercial Attaché.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed measures to promote trade, investment and business connectivity between Cambodia and Australia, with a focus on potential sectors such as agriculture, agro-industry and supply chains.
The discussions aimed at diversifying bilateral trade and promoting shared economic growth.
The two sides also exchanged views on strengthening tourism cooperation, particularly through infrastructure development and enhanced direct air connectivity between Cambodia and Australia.
