AKP Phnom Penh, April 08, 2020 --

Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports has temporarily banned all sport gatherings at both public and private stadiums.

The ban was notified through a notification issued yesterday by the ministry, underlining that the measure is intended to curb the spread of COVID-19 threatening Cambodia.

The ministry has recently ordered the short-term closure of gyms and sport clubs potentially bring together many people, and the ban of any sport gathering of more than 10 participants.

As of 07:00 am on April 8, 2020, Cambodia has recorded in total 117 COVID-19 confirmed cases, including 51 Cambodians, 40 French, 13 Malaysians, 5 British, 2 Americans, 2 Indonesians, one Canadian, one Belgian, one Chinese, and one Vietnamese. Of them, 63 have been successfully cured.
