Phnom Penh Residents’ GDP Per Capita Reaches US$3,800

AKP Phnom Penh, June 23, 2018 —

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen of the Kingdom of Cambodia has pointed out that the GDP per capita of Phnom Penh residents rose to US$3,800 in 2017.

The GDP per capita in Cambodia was US$1,658, but that in Phnom Penh reached US$3,800 in 2017, said the Premier while presiding over the Grand Opening of Phnom Penh Safari this morning.

This is not enough, Cambodian will do its best to transform itself into an upper middle-income economy by 2030 and a high-income nation by 2050, he underlined.

To do so, he added, maintaining peace is very necessary. “Peace is the desire of the Cambodian people as well as those of other countries in the world,” he underlined.

Besides, Samdech Techo Hun Sen highlighted the importance of the culture of sharing, saying that those with resources share their own resources to develop the nation. “Everyone, even our opponents, has been benefiting from the achievements (roads, bridges, schools, etc.),” he said.
