MAFF and EU Finalise Study of a Fisheries Project worth 87 Million Euro

AKP Phnom Penh, June 11, 2018 —

Cambodia’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) and European Union (EU) have finalised a feasibility study of Cambodia Programme for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth in the Fisheries Sector (CAPFISH).

This information was made known during a recent meeting here in Phnom Penh between H.E. Veng Sakhon, Minister of MAFF, and EU Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. George Edgar.

This five-year CAPFISH project, worth 87 million Euro, focuses on the management, conservation, control and monitoring of fisheries resources, both maritime and fresh water, processing and ensuring food safety, and improvement of fishing communities’ livelihoods, according to the MAFF’s news release.
