Cambodia Seeks Japan’s Technical Support for E-Commerce Infrastructure

AKP Phnom Penh, December 14, 2017 —

Cambodian Minister of Commerce H.E. Pan Sorasak has requested Japan for technical support to build e-commerce infrastructure.

H.E. Minister made the request while meeting with Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry H.E. Hiroshige Seko in Buenos Aires, Argentina early this week, on the sidelines of the Eleventh WTO Ministerial Conference (MC11), according to the Ministry of Commerce’s news release.

Cambodia also sought technical assistance from Japan to improve its automation systems, especially the National Single Window project, and capacity building of relevant officials, after Japan announced a US$300 million financial package to promote e-commerce infrastructure in the least developed and developing countries for three years.

In reply, H.E. Hiroshige Seko said he will take into consideration Cambodia’s requests and affirmed Japan’s commitment to continue strengthening the economic and trade cooperation with Cambodia.
