Cambodia-ADB Partnership Strategy Reviewed

AKP Phnom Penh, December 12, 2017 —

Cambodia’s Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have reviewed Country Partnership Policy 2014-2018 toward new cooperation approach for the betterment of Cambodia.

Secretary of State H.E. Vongsey Vissoth represented the Ministry of Economy and Finance in the meeting taking place here in Phnom Penh yesterday with the participation of ADB delegation led by its Country Director for Cambodia Mr. Samiuela T. Tukuafu.

According to H.E. Vongsey Vissoth, the outputs from the session will cast light on new Partnership Strategy 2019-2023 of the Royal Government of Cambodia and development partners.

The review, he added, also factored in the government’s rectangular strategy-phase III in order to ensure its comprehensiveness.

Cambodia has secured annual economic growth of 7 percent for years, outlined Mr. Samiuela T. Tukuafu; consequently, the country’s population living below poverty line decreased to 14 percent in 2014.

As planned the current Partnership Strategy 2014-2018 will end in August next year, and its replacement needs to be considered from now in order to sustain Cambodia’s high development performance.
