Minister of Public Works Shares Cambodia’s Physical Infrastructure Development with Local and International Investors

Senior Minister H.E. Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public Works and Transport yesterday shared Cambodia’s achievements in terms of physical infrastructure development with local and international investors, at the Cambodia International Business Summit 2017.
As a panelist and speaker under the theme “ASEAN Connectivity Infrastructure and Energy”, H.E. Sun Chanthol briefed the participants who were industry leaders within the private sector on Cambodia road networks, expressway construction, ring road construction, the expanded deep sea port of Sihanoukville, the Sihanoukville airport runway improvements to accommodate tourism, the currently operational passenger train service from Phnom Penh to and from Sihanoukville, and the upgrading of the Northern railway line.
H.E. Sun Chanthol also mentioned about the ASEAN connectivity related to the Singapore-Kunming railway project, and the status of the feasibility study on passenger trains from Phnom Penh to the airport.
Developing inland waterway transport along the Mekong, Tonle Sap and Bassac rivers in order to alleviate congestion in Phnom Penh is a priority of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport in 2017, according to H.E. Senior Minister.
