Minister of Telecommunications: 100 Cambodians Have 137 Telephones

In the first semester of 2012, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications recorded that there were 137 mobile and fixed-line phone subscriptions among 100 Cambodian people, a remarkable increase if compared to the same period last year, H.E. Minister So Khun said yesterday.
From January to June this year, there were 578,164 fixed-line phone subscribers, or 3.92 phones in 100 people, while the number of mobile phone subscriptions hit 19,642,563, or over 133 phones among 100 people, H.E. So Khun told a recapitulative meeting.
The number of internet users also saw a sharp rise, reaching almost 2 millions in the first semester of this year, he added.
