A Chinese Company Proposes US$6.5-Billion Investment Projects in Cambodia
AKP Phnom Penh, August 09, 2012 —
Hainan Ruijing Investment Holding Ltd. from China has announced its US$-6.5 billion investment projects in Cambodia in the fields of agriculture and tourism for a 10-year period.
The announcement was made by the Chinese company’s Chairman Mr. Pan Xiaoping a meeting here on Aug. 8 with Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly (NA).
H.E. Korm Kosal, Chief of Cabinet of the NA president said the company is interested in rice growing, livestock raising, and tourism services in Cambodia.
The company is expected to invest some US$400 million in rice cultivation, some US$300 million in cattle raising and US$5.8 billion for hotel and other tourism facilities in Preah Sihanouk coastal province, he said.
For his part, Samdech Heng Samrin expressed his full support to the investment projects, which will contribute to further strengthening and expanding the cooperation, friendship and solidarity, particularly between the private sectors of both countries, H.E. Korm Kosal said.
