Cambodian Premier Receives Chinese Foreign Minister

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen held here this morning at the Peace Palace a talk with visiting Chinese Foreign Minister H.E. Yang Jiechi on the sidelines of the 45th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM).
In the meeting, the visiting Chinese foreign minister affirmed that the Chinese government and people will continue to support Cambodia, especially to provide financial assistance to boost the export of Cambodian rice and other agricultural products to China, and to encourage more Chinese tourists and investors to visit and invest in Cambodia, H.E. Ieng Sophalet, Assistant to the Cambodian premier told reporters.
H.E. Yang Jiechi expressed his appreciation to the rapid development in Cambodia and affirmed China’s support to the organization of the upcoming ASEAN Summit in November, said the assistant.
The Chinese foreign minister highly evaluated the existing relations between China and Cambodia, and also invited Samdech Techo Hun Sen to attend the Asia-Europe Expo scheduled to be held in China in September this year, he added.
H.E. Yang Jiechi also said China is willing to send its health experts to Cambodia to help doing research on an unknown disease, which had recently killed many Cambodian children.
For his part, Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked the Chinese foreign minister for his presence at the 45th AMM, which, he said, contributes a very important part to ensuring regional peace and stability as well as to strengthening regional cooperation.
The Cambodian prime minister also expressed profound thanks to China for its continued assistance to Cambodia and its intention to send its health experts to Cambodia.
