GDCE Delegation Returns from Attending 199th/200th Annual World Customs Meeting

AKP Phnom Penh, July 05, 2012 –

A delegation of Cambodian General Department of Customs and Excise (GDCE) led by its Director General H.E. Dr. Pen Simon returned home recently after attending the 199th/200 annual World Customs Meeting in Belgium, according to a GDCE news release.

The three-day (June 28-30) meeting was aimed to discuss and approve the package of economic competition to secure and boost economic growth amid many countries have been facing economic crisis and financial pressure, the news release said.

Besides, the GDCE delegation also attended a meeting on excise in order to discuss on effective tax collection and to implement the law on illegal trades and other related issues.

Customs delegations from 177 countries and many international organizations and relevant institutions and partners participated in the event, said the news release.
