In 20 Years, UK Provides US$290 Million for the Development of Cambodia

AKP Phnom Penh, June 29, 2012 —

From 1992 to the end of 2011, the United Kingdom (UK) has provided some US$290 million in support to the development of Cambodia.

This amount of financial support was revealed during a meeting between H.E. Keat Chhon, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance and H.E. Mark Gooding, UK ambassador to Cambodia this morning, a ministry’s senior official told reporters after the meeting.

In the meeting, H.E. Keat Chhon expressed profound thanks to the UK’s government and people for their assistance to the development of Cambodia since 1992, said the official.

UK’s financial support to Cambodia mostly focused on the fields of health and mine clearance.
