Two Cambodian Ministries To Work Together on the Safety of Tour Bus Travel

AKP Phnom Penh, June 26, 2012 –

The Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Public Works and Transports of Cambodia will work together on improving the safety of tour bus travel following some major tour bus accidents, which would affect the country’s tourism sector.

Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon said recently that the Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Public Works and Transports have discussed on a joint draft declaration mainly focusing on technical aspect of each tour bus company prior to granting operating license.

Recently, there were some terrible tour bus and truck accidents, especially on the road to Siem Reap and Preah Sihanouk provinces.

Cambodia has 12 tour bus companies operating both in the country and to neighboring countries – Laos and Vietnam.
