A Meeting to Mark the 45th Anniversary of the Establishment of Cambodia-Vietnam’s Diplomatic Relations

Hundreds of Cambodian people including dignitaries, government officials, students and monks gathered here yesterday morning in a meeting to commemorate the 45th Anniversary of the Establishment of Cambodia-Vietnam’s Diplomatic Relations under the presidency of Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly (NA).
Speaking at the event, Samdech Heng Samrin, also Chairman of the National Council of the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland, said the ties of solidarity, friendship and cooperation between the two countries and peoples, which have started long ago, became official on June 24, 1967.
The traditional bonds have been strengthened and expanded through cooperation and frequent exchanges of visits between both countries at all levels, he added.
The Cambodian NA president further recalled Vietnam’s assistance to the national reconciliation, then to the reconstruction and development of Cambodia in all fields.
Ambassador of Vietnam to Cambodia H.E. Ngo Anh Dzung, who was also present at the meeting, was convinced that the traditional friendship between Cambodia and Vietnam will continue to be deepened for mutual benefits, as well as for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
