CRC President Meets Delegation from Pasteur Institutes in France and Cambodia
AKP Phnom Penh, June 15, 2012 –
Lok Chumteav Kittipritthbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen, president of Cambodian Red Cross (CRC), met here on Wednesday with a delegation from the Pasteur Institute of France, Pasteur Institute of Cambodia and Cambodian Ministry of Health.
The delegation was led by French Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Christian Connan.
In the meeting, the director of Epidemic and Communicable Disease Department of Pasteur Institute in Paris, praised the CRC president for her efforts in humanitarian activities, Mrs. Men Neary Sopheak, CRC Deputy Secretary General told reporters after the meeting.
The director also highly valued all efforts made by the royal government in implementing humanitarian activities.
She was hopeful about the CRC president’s efforts in humanitarian activities including medicine management law, the provision of antiretroviral drugs to people living with HIV/AIDS, the mother-to-children infection prevention, the use of condoms and so on.
In reply, Lok Chumteav Bun Rany Hun Sen briefed the guests on the CRC’s achievements in humanitarian activities, as well as social affairs. She further said CRC planned to actively participating in eliminating the tuberculosis as well.
The CRC president also asked the director of Pasteur Institute in Paris to conduct a study and research on cancer disease faced by Cambodian women.
