Cambodia Marks World Blood Donor Day

AKP Phnom Penh, June 15, 2012 –

Cambodian Ministry of Health and relevant privates sectors jointly organized the World Blood Donor Day on June 14 at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra Hotel under the theme “Every Blood Donor is a Hero”.

The event was presided over by Cambodian Minister of Health H.E. Mam Bun Heng and attended by some 500 health officials and foreign embassy representatives to Cambodia, as well as those from non-governmental organizations and students.

On the occasion, H.E. Mam Bun Heng expressed his satisfaction with the rapid growth of blood donors and encouraged more people to donate their blood to save Cambodian people’s lives.

The health minister also urged the National Blood Transfusion Center (NBTC) to try its utmost to sufficiently respond to blood demands.
