Cambodia Hosts ASEAN Finance, Central Bank Deputies Meeting
AKP Phnom Penh, March 28, 2012 –
The ASEAN Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting chaired by H.E. Vongsey Vissoth, Secretary General at Cambodia’s Ministry of Economy and Finance kicked off here yesterday.
The meeting would discuss financial cooperation in the ASEAN framework so as to continue promoting financial integration toward the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community by 2015, according to a press release from the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
The results of the discussion will be submitted to the 16th ASEAN Finance Ministers’ Meeting to be held here on Mar. 30, for approval, said the press release.
The meeting would discuss the progress of the Roadmap for Monetary and Financial Integration of ASEAN including Capital Market Development, Financial Services Liberalization, Capital Account Liberalization, and ASEAN Capital Market Forum, added the press release, stressing that it would also discuss the progress of ASEAN Finance Cooperation in the sectors of insurance, customs, taxation, countering terrorism financing, anti-money laundering, and ASEAN economic surveillance process.
The meeting is very important for the development of Cambodian economy and it will help find a joint policy to respond to the global financial crisis and risk, it underlined.
