PM Inaugurates Portion of National Road No. 76 from Kratie to Mondulkiri
AKP Phnom Penh, January 31, 2012 –
Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen this morning presided over the inauguration ceremony of the 127-kilometer portion of National Road No. 76 linking Snuol of Kratie province and Sen Monorom of Mondulkiri province.
Meanwhile, the construction of the approximately-172-kilometer portion of National Road No. 76 from Sen Monorom to Ta Ang of Rattanakiri province was also launched.
“This is the result of the close cooperation between Cambodia and China,” stressed the Cambodian premier, who expressed his profound thanks to the Chinese people and government for their assistance to the development of infrastructure in Cambodia.
China has so far provided around US$1.7 billion in grants and soft loans to Cambodia to develop its infrastructure including roads, bridges with the total length of 1,500 kilometers, said Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
H.E. Tram Iv Tek, Minister of Public Works and Transports said the inaugurated portion was built on Feb. 14, 2008, and the construction was completed on Mar. 25, 2011 at the cost of US$51.9 million, a soft loan from China and the national budget.
According to the minister, the construction of the other portion from Sen Monorom to Ta Ang, using the soft loan from china and the national budget of US$91.68 million, will last 42 months.
