India Thanks Cambodia for Its Role as Coordinator for ASEAN-India Partnership

India has thanked the Royal Government of Cambodia for having played important roles as a coordinator for ASEAN-India partnership.

The information was made known here on Nov. 29 by Mr. Ek Tha, spokesman for the Press and Quick Reaction Unit at the Office of the Council of Ministers after a meeting between Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Sok An and visiting Indian Deputy Minister for External Ministry H.E. Sanjay Singh.

H.E. Sanjay Singh told H.E. Sok An of India’s intention to connect its roads to a road that will link from Cambodia to Vietnam to Laos and Burma, and to help build Cambodia’s capacity in English language.

In reply H.E. Sok An, also Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers, expressed thanks to India for repairing Cambodia’s Ta Prohm Temple and for announcing to restore Preah Khan Temple.

Cambodia and the rest of ASEAN are working together to narrow the gap between the rich and poor members as they will establish the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015, he said.
