Tourism Minister Receives New Turkish and Indian Ambassadors to Cambodia

AKP Phnom Penh, April 23, 2018 —

H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism, has granted separate meetings to two newly appointed ambassadors of Turkey and India to Cambodia.

In the meeting taking place lately here in Phnom Penh, H.E. Thong Khon congratulated the new role of the two diplomats, and appreciated their commitments to promote cooperation with Cambodia in all domains, especially in tourism.

The minister asked the Turkish Ambassador H.E. Ms. Ayda Ünlü to consider establishing tourism vocational training centre in order to contribute to further improving the quality of tourism skills and services in Cambodia

As planned, Cambodia and Turkey will sign a memorandum of understanding on tourism development in October this year.

Indian ambassador H.E. Ms. Manika Jain spoke highly of the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism’s good cooperation in organising the annual Yoga Day successfully.

She also asked for the minister’s support to continue organising joint art and culture performance as well as tourism meetings to maximise tourism development potential of the two countries.

Taking the opportunity, H.E. Thong Khon requested the two diplomats to push for direct flights between Cambodia and their respective countries, outlining them some of Cambodia’s potential tourism destinations.
