Minister of Foreign Affairs of Singapore To Visit Cambodia Next Week

AKP Phnom Penh, October 13, 2017 –

Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan will lead a delegation to pay an official visit to Cambodia from Oct. 17 to 18, 2017, said the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in a press release made public this morning.

During the visit, it pointed out, Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan will be received in a Royal Audience by His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, at the Throne Hall, the Royal Palace.

The Singaporean top diplomat will also pay a courtesy call on Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and hold official talks with H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Senior Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to be followed by the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore on Political Consultations, it added..

According to the same source, since the establishment of the diplomatic relations in 1965, the two countries have enjoyed good cooperation as seen by the exchange of high-level visits and notable increase year by year of mutual trade.

The official visit of Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan to Cambodia will bolster both countries’ commitment to promote the excellent relations of friendship and close cooperation in both bilateral and regional frameworks.
