Cambodian PM Arrives Back Home

AKP Phnom Penh, September 13, 2017 –

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, arrived home this morning after participating in the opening ceremony of the 14th ASEAN-China Expo organised in Nanning city, China’s Guangxi province on Sept. 12.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen was greeted upon arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng, Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Hor Namhong, Deputy Prime Minister and Acting Minister of the Office of the Council of Ministers H.E. Bin Chhin, and many other senior government officials.

Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Xiong Bo was also present on the occasion.

In his remarks at the opening ceremony of the 14th ASEAN-China Expo, the Cambodian premier urged for more trade promotion between ASEAN and China and called for more Chinese investors and tourists to the ASEAN region.

After that, Samdech Techo Hun Sen presided over the inauguration ceremony of Cambodian national pavilion and visited Cambodian stands. He also joined the opening ceremony of the national pavilion of Brunei Darussalam.

Besides, the Cambodian leader met with a number of senior Chinese officials including Vice Premier H.E. Zhang Gaoli, Minister of International Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee H.E. Song Tao, and Governor of Guangxi province H.E. Chen Wu.

Moreover, he held a get-together with 142 Cambodian students pursuing their studies in China.

This is the 10th time that Samdech Techo Hun Sen attended the ASEAN-China Expo in Nanning.

It is expected that the 14th ASEAN-China Expo will further strengthen the bilateral cooperation between ASEAN and China so as to reach the target of US$1 trillion of trade and investment value from China to ASEAN and of US$150 billion from ASEAN to China by 2020.
