Cambodia Holds First JCC Meeting on Effective Implementation on EIA and Pollution Control

AKP Phnom Penh, August 30, 2017 —

The Ministry of Environment (MOE) in collaboration with Japan International Cooperation Agency organised here yesterday the first Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) Meeting on the implementation of the “Project for Effective Implementation of Environmental Impact Assessment and Pollution Control through the Capacity Development of MOE.”

The meeting was chaired by H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Under Secretary of State for Environment.

H.E. Eang Sophalleth said the officials’ capacity building is a prioritised duty to respond to the current development of the country.

This project will help strengthening the capacity of the officials of the MOE’s General Department of Environmental Protection in implementing effectively the EIA and pollution control to prevent and mitigate the environmental impacts in Cambodia, he underlined.
