Cambodia Wins 70 Medals in IJMO 2017

AKP Phnom Penh, August 16, 2017 –

Cambodia earned in total 70 medals – 3 gold, 5 silver and 62 bronze – in the International Junior Math Olympiad (IJMO) 2017 held in Phnom Penh, from Aug. 11 to 15.

The medal conferment ceremony took place here on Monday evening under the presidency of H.E. Im Koch, Secretary of State for Education, Youth and Sports, with the participation of representatives of foreign diplomatic corps and delegates from 17 countries.

The competition was coordinated by ZAMAN International School and STEM Cambodia and supported by Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

IJMO is an international mathematics competition held annually in different countries in Asia. To be eligible for participation in IJMO, only SASMO (Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad) Gold awardees from each country are selected annually to represent their country
