During his visit, H.E. Yuthasak Sasiprapha met Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Tea Banh, Minister of National Defense at the Ministry.
In the meeting, Cambodian and Thai defense ministers agreed to comply with the order of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the disputed area surround the Preah Vihear temple.
“We agreed to comply with the ICJ’s order” H.E. Tea Banh told reporters.
According to H.E Tea Banh there was no exact date for the troop withdrawal, but both sides has agreed to further discuss in the General Border Commission in the near future.
The Cambodia and Thailand’s border conflict has been flare up since Cambodia registered the Preah Vihear Temple into the UNESCO’s World Heritage List on July 7, 2008, but after the new Thai government was established the situation is improving.
H.E. Yuthasak Sasiprapha said there is no more tension between Cambodian and Thai troops now.
