Cambodia Collects Over US$768 Million as Tax Income in Q1
AKP Phnom Penh, April 21, 2017 –
The General Department of Taxation (GDT) of the Ministry of Economy and Finance collected in total more than 3,074 billion Riel (over US$768.62 million), up US$368.71 million (or 92.2 percent) compared to the same period of 2016.
The information was released by H.E. Kong Vibol, Director General of GDT, during a monthly meeting held recently at the GDT’s office under the presidency of H.E. Aun Porn Moniroth, Senior Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance.
The growth of tax revenue derived from an increase in almost all tax items including tax on income, tax on salary, special tax, he pointed out.
Last year, GDT collected a total of US$1,497 million as tax income – almost 15 percent or US$194.62 million increase, compared to a year earlier.
